Baghdad- Asharq Al-Awsat newspaper obtained information from Iraqi intelligence sources that the case file on the kidnapped Qataris who went missing last year and were taken from Iraq, now rest in the hands of the Lebanon-based Hezbollah.

The terrorist group is linked directly to the kidnappers, and is currently managing the course of negotiations on their behalf. Parleys, concerning the file, are witnessing the contribution of Kuwaitis who are at a good status of fellowship with Qatar.

Another source, residing in an Arab state, told Asharq Al-Awsat that the file has been completely taken outside Iraq and especially shifted negotiations to Lebanon and Kuwait.

Last November, the Iraqi militia, which goes by the name of Abu Fadl group, were held responsible for snatching a group of Qatari citizens from Al-Samawa desert, located 280 kilometers southeast of Baghdad.

The group of Qataris were at a casual hunting spree, which they had already received official approval for from Iraqi authorities.

Abu Fadel militia, after abducting the group away from their hunting trip, later handed them over to another faction known by Iraqi Hezbollah, which is one of the military off-shoots belonging to the Lebanon-based Hezbollah. The whole situation was further handed over to the Lebanon-based Hezbollah.

High up intelligence source said that “releasing one of the kidnapped Qataris a while ago was an initiative to display good intention; as to restore the spirit of negotiations which had been stumbling over the whole kidnap for diverse reasons.”

Meanwhile the Iraqi parliament prepares today for a heated session held for voting on whatever is left from Prime Minister of Iraq Haider al-Abadi’s government. The voting was scheduled for two days ago.

The Sadrist movement currently gathers masses of its followers at the Green zone, led by Muqtada al-Sadr, as to pressure the ministers to pass their proposed roaster for a new formation.
