Jeddah-Council of Saudi Chambers announced that businessmen can now run for the membership of the Saudi-Chinese Business Council following the approval of the Minister of Commerce to reshuffle the Council.

In accordance with the Council’s resolution, heads of Saudi Chambers have been invited to participate in nominations for testing new members who meet the conditions set by the council, including trade, industrial or investment activities with China in addition to the approval to work voluntarily and English language proficiency.

For his part, Vice President of Jeddah Chamber of Commerce and Industry (JCCI) Ziad al-Bassam said that reshuffling of the council came at a time when business sectors in two countries are looking forward to activate initiatives launched by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud during exchange of visits between Saudi Arabia and China.

Al-Bassam pointed out that the council will play a major role in the coming period in light of the Saudi implementation of its ambitious 2030 Vision, which focuses on economic diversification and building huge partnerships.

He confirmed the depth of historic relationships between Saudi Arabia and China and added that the council contributes in simplifying trade and investment procedures, developing an integrated system and infrastructure, whether legislative, judicial or executive and playing a positive role in addressing other matters, specifically the private sector.

According to economic specialists, the inclusion of new members to the council will hasten the implementation process of the projects in the coming period; besides contributing to the increase of new joint investment flows in the petrochemical and other fields.

Notably, the future of Riyadh-Beijing relation witnesses development and nourishment in light of boosting their strategic partnerships in the region.
