Riyadh-General Electric’s President and CEO of Saudi Arabia and Bahrain Hisham Albahkali confirmed that his company is committed to participating at the MiSK Global Forum.

In its support for Saudi youth and transformation plans, Albahkali says that General Electric has kicked off export trading from its Dammam branches, located east Saudi Arabia. The exports are being delivered to over 29 countries.

The forum is an initiative to empower the youth of the region to become global citizens and to lead the way for the sustainable development of Saudi Arabia. The first-ever MiSK Global Forum, is a two day event focused on a variety of multidimensional formats, culture and technology for young Saudis and Arab youth in partnership with the brightest minds in the world.

This unique gathering aims to unleash the potential of the country’s youth and advance the Saudi National Transformation Program and the Vision 2030.

Albahkali, speaking to Asharq Al-Awsat, said that his company is directing its strategy and investment in Saudi Arabia with a pro-youth manner, providing training and career opportunities. More so, the company had moved towards nationalizing manufactures.

“It is an overarching approach to create a thriving manufacturing, entrepreneurial and innovation-driven ecosystem in Saudi Arabia, which draws on the skills – engineering and software – of the best minds in the country and of our youth. And at every step, we are pushing the envelope – working in partnership to support economic growth,” wrote Albahkali.

The Kingdom has two great strengths that have the potential for better utilization: Saudi youth -that accounts for more than half the total population-and Saudi Arabia’s industrial infrastructure, which contributes significantly to the national economy—merging the two meters key to transforming the economy and helping unlock its true value, he added.

General Electric aims to be the world’s leading digital industrial company – an evolution of our 130-year-old company that is well-aligned with the aims of Saudi Vision 2030, approved by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman, and announced by Deputy Crown Prince Mohammed Bin Salman.

With its focus on driving economic growth and diversification, localized manufacturing and Saudi talent development, the Saudi Vision 2030 – and one of its main supporting pillars, the National Transformation Program 2020 – lays down on a clear roadmap for businesses to contribute to strengthening the Kingdom’s competitiveness and standing in the world.
