Washington- The repercussions of the 9/11 attacks are still affecting Americans, as the latest was the judgment issued by US Federal Court, which fined Iran $10.7 billion for supporting the terrorists who attacked commercial towers and official buildings in USA. The attacks back then caused the death of thousands of victims and were followed by wars that overthrew the regime in Afghanistan and Iraq.

According to the judgment issued, Iran shall compensate for the damages it caused for the families of victims who died and the companies affected by the attacks.

It is worth mentioning that it is the second time a US court issues a verdict against Iran for the latter’s cooperation with Al Qaeda in September 11 attacks. In 2012, A US court fined Iran $6 billion to victims’ families after accusing Iran of concluding a secret agreement with a group affiliated with Al Qaeda in order to facilitate its mission in attracting new members and raising funds for the terrorist organization to increase its attacks in Afghanistan and Pakistan.

Directly after Barack Obama’s interview with “The Atlantic” magazine during which he criticized the Arabs by describing them as “tribal” and accused his country’s allies, despite their commitment to maintain stability in the region, of spreading terrorism, Obama was hit by two consecutive decisions taken by the Iranians, said the US Researcher in “Washington University” Steven Haigh. Obama described Iran’s strategic decisions as “wise”.

The first slap ahead of publishing the interview was the ballistic missiles’ tests, which challenged the US sanctions on Iran imposed earlier this year due to Iran’s nuclear program.

The second slap was in the US court decision in New York, which was issued by US District Judge George Daniels, fining Iran $10.7 billion for involvement in the 9/11 terrorist attacks.

All this came on the sidelines of the humiliating image of the American sailors who were detained for hours, weeks ago, by the Basij who deliberately published

their picture in the press, being certain that neither President Obama nor his administration will react against the subject.
