Mosul-“We Are Coming, Nineveh” operations’ command leading Mosul’s liberation has announced that Iraqi anti-terror units have controlled Qadesiyya neighborhood on the left side of Mosul and killed scores of terrorists, while a Kurdish official has asserted that three more neighborhoods – Al-Zuhur, Algeria, and Faysaliya – separate Iraqi forces from the left riverside of Tigris.

The Iraqi media war cell reported that according to the commander of the operations, Major General Abdel Amir Rashid Yarallah, the Iraqi forces have stormed Al-Salam neighborhood on the left side of Mosul, destroyed a number of armors, and killed more than 30 terrorists.

Yarallah noted that anti-terror units blockaded the neighborhood of Eden and destroyed nine vehicles in coordination with the Iraqi air forces and the International Coalition.

In the southwestern hub of Mosul, federal police forces have continued operations of inspection and combing in the liberated areas, while armored troops of the Iraqi army have advanced in different neighborhoods on the left side of the city.

An official in the anti-terror units told Asharq Al-Awsat that Iraqi forces have controlled Qadesiyya neighborhood near Azahraa.

A Kurdish official reported that the International Coalition’s air forces targeted an ISIS grouping in Wahda neighborhood on the left side of the city and killed Hassan Ahmad Youssef, a top figure in the terrorist group, and four others.

While liberation battles are still ongoing in Mosul, ISIS has moved militants from Raqqa in Syria to Mosul to participate in the battle. A Kurdish media official from the Kurdistan Democratic Party revealed that this faction belongs to Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi and comprises around 400 militants.

The same official reported that ISIS killed 17 citizens from Mosul after accusing them of spying for the Iraqi army and the International Coalition forces, while the terrorist organization has lost more than 108 members over the few past days during the latest battles.
