Muslims World league’s secretariat general today denounced the terrorist stampede incident which took place in the Swedish capital of Stockholm, killing and injuring dozens, reported Saudi state-owned news agency SPA.

In a statement, Secretary General of the MWL Sheikh Dr. Mohammed bin Abdulkarim Al-Isa said the organization confirms its firm position against terrorism, saying that such acts targeting innocent people and stability and security of safe societies have nothing to do with Islam as they contradict all human and international values and principles.

He offered condolences to the families of the victims, as well as the government and people of Sweden, wishing the inured a quick recovery.

He called on all world leaders to stand united in confrontation of terrorism and tackle the reasons of such acts which attempt to destabilize the world’s security and stability.

The MWL organization funds the construction of mosques, financial reliefs for Muslims afflicted by natural disasters, the distribution of copies of the Quran, and political tracts on Muslim minority groups. The League rejects all acts of violence and promote dialogue with the people of other cultures.
