Paris- French authorities arrested four suspected accomplices of a university student who allegedly carried out terrorist acts.

France Info News Station in addition to other French media outlets reported on Wednesday that the four were arrested separately early on Tuesday in Paris’s northwestern suburbs.

The university student, who planned to attack a church in Villejuif, was arrested earlier in April 2015 after apparently shooting himself by accident and has been jailed on preliminary charges since.

Police investigators had found bulletproof vests, weapons and ammunition.

France has been subjected to a series of terrorist attacks since 2015– Paris commemorated the victims of the November 2015 terror attacks that killed 130 people.

More so, French authorities said that they are planning to renew the imposed state of emergency til the coming presidential elections in April and May.

Speaking on the sidelines of U.N. climate talks in Morocco, French President Francois Hollande said he intended on prolonging the emergency measures in place since the November 2015 Paris attacks- the state of emergency was due to expire in January.

The state of emergency was introduced on the night of the 13 November 2015 Paris attacks and extended for six months in late July after the Nice attack, which killed 86 people.
