Six men were charged in Denmark on Friday for violating the country’s terrorism laws by allowing themselves to be recruited by ISIS and fighting for the jihadist group in Syria.

State attorney Lise-Lotte Nilas said the charges included permitting themselves to be recruited by a terror organization.

“We have six men in Denmark, against whom I believe there are grounds to lay charges of violating terror provisions in the penal code,” Nilas said.

The six men, who were not identified and are currently held on remand, were either Danish citizens or foreigners living in Denmark, the public prosecutor said.

The charges could carry prison sentences of more than four years.

In two other separate cases, Denmark has stripped two men of their citizenship and sentenced them to prison after inciting terrorism and fighting for ISIS in Syria.

In Denmark’s neighboring country Sweden, the death toll from the Stockholm truck attack rose to five on Friday after a 60-year-old Swedish woman succumbed to her injuries, police said.

An Uzbek suspect has confessed to using a stolen truck to mow down pedestrians on a busy shopping street in central Stockholm on April 7 in a rampage similar to attacks in Nice, Berlin and London.

Three Swedes, including an 11-year-old girl, were among the dead along with one Briton and one Belgian. Fifteen others were injured.

Police said the woman was being treated at a hospital in southern Sweden and died on Friday morning.
