Riyadh – Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz marked an unprecedented historic day in Saudi-US ties after signing with US President Donald Trump the declaration of the joint strategic partnership vision.

Over 30 military, oil and technology agreements, worth $280 billion, were signed during Trump’s visit to Riyadh, which he kicked off on Saturday.

King Salman held a Saudi-US summit with Trump at Riyadh’s Yamama Palace during which they discussed historic ties between the two countries and ways to bolster and develop them in various fields.

They also tackled the developments in the region and the world and efforts to achieve stability and security.

King Salman and Trump oversaw the signing of a number of agreements between Washington and Riyadh worth $280 billion.

The agreements will create hundreds of thousands of job opportunities in both countries.

Deputy Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, Second Deputy Premier and Defense Minister, signed with US Secretary of State Rex Tillerson a deal to develop and update the armed forces.

The signed agreements covered military industry, power generation, investment in infrastructure, manufacturing high quality products, oil and gas services and health investments. They also included an air transport agreement to purchase planes.

The deals include the manufacture of Black Hawk helicopters in Saudi Arabia, the establishment of an ethylene factory in the United States and a Memorandum of Understanding between the Saudi Information Technology and Apple Inc.

General Electric signed a number of business deals, ranging from the power and healthcare sectors to the oil and gas industry and mining.

The White House had announced earlier that military agreements worth $110 billion will be signed. They are aimed at bolstering Saudi Arabia’s defense capabilities.

A White House official added that the agreements, which demonstrate American commitment towards the Gulf, will also help support the region’s security against terrorism and Iranian threats.

The Yamama summit was attended by Prince Faisal bin Bandar bin Abdulaziz, Governor of Riyadh Region, Prince Dr. Mansur bin Miteb bin Abdulaziz, Minister of State, Member of the Cabinet and Advisor to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, Prince Miteb bin Abdullah bin Abdulaziz, Minister of the National Guard, Crown Prince Mohammed bin Naif bin Abdulaziz, Deputy Premier and Minister of Interior, Deputy Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Second Deputy Premier and Minister of Defense, Prince Khalid bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Saudi Ambassador to the US, Minister of State and Member of the Cabinet Dr. Musaed bin Mohammed Al-Aiban, Minister of Commerce and Investment Dr. Majid bin Abdullah Al-Qasabi, Minister of Foreign Affairs Adel bin Ahmed Al-Jubeir, and Minister of Energy, Industry and Mineral Resources Eng. Khalid bin Abdulaziz Al-Falih.

The talks were also attended by Tillerson, Secretary of Commerce Louis Ross and a number of officials.

The summit was preceded by a luncheon banquet thrown by King Salman in honor of Trump and the accompanying delegation.

The dignitaries then toured the Saudi Contemporary Art Exhibition, which displays samples of the works of Saudi artists taking part of the Bridges Program. These artists also participated in exhibitions in the US in order to promote coexistence among different cultures and highlight Saudi artistic skills.
