The Saudi national campaign organized by the King Salman Relief and Humanitarian Aid Center continued for the 28th consecutive day distributing Iftar meals for people in Yemen’s Taiz governorate benefiting all the districts of the governorate.

Iftar is the meal by Muslims after sunset to break their fast during the holy month of Ramadan.

In a statement released by the Saudi state-owned news agency SPA, the project focused most of its meal distribution in Bir Pasha, Al-Nour City, Al-Hawd District, Al-Askari Hospital, Al Safwa Hospital, Al Thawra Hospital, Military Hospital, Al-Roumi Hospital and Al Rawda Hospital.

The project aims at alleviating the suffering of the people in this holy month in light of the current humanitarian situation, and within framework of the humanitarian efforts carried out by the center towards the Yemeni people in all fields.

Another KSRelief project benefited over 234,000 people in six governorates of Aden, Abyan, Lahj, Dhali, Marib and Taiz, where these meals are distributed to the impoverished groups.

Yemen has been ravaged with a civil war launched in 2014 by Iran-backed Houthi militiamen and armed loyalists backing ex-president Ali Abdullah Saleh.
