The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud made a telephone call to US President Donald Trump, the Saudi Press Agency reported on Friday.

During the call, the Monarch congratulated the US president on the quick defeat of ISIS in Iraq’s northern city of Mosul, it said.

The Monarch also expressed appreciation to the US role in leading the coalition to fight such a terrorist organization, praising the great achievements in combatting terrorism early in Trump’s presidency, SPA said.

The King reiterated Riyadh’s unflinching position in putting all potentials for the sake of fighting terrorism, drying up its sources and crushing it, it said.

For his part, the president expressed appreciation to the King’s stance and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s role in combating terrorism and strenuous efforts it exerts, in this respect, wishing that the latest victory may lead to the eradication of evil forces and their regional backers, the agency added.
