Saudi Arabia’s Deputy Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz arrived in Washington to meet on Tuesday with United States President Donald Trump.

Saudi’s Deputy Crown Prince is scheduled to meet Trump and a number of officials in the White House to discuss reinforcing bilateral ties shared by the two countries and regional issues of mutual interest.

The White House announced on Monday that Trump will receive the Deputy Crown Prince on Tuesday.
Prince Mohammed bin Salman will be the first Saudi official to visit the White House since Trump has entered presidency.

These will be the first talks between Saudi Arabia and the United States under the new White House administration.

It will be the first meeting since Trump took office in January between the US President and the powerful prince leading the kingdom’s efforts to revive state finances by diversifying away from oil dependency.

Kingdom’s Vision 2030 seeks to promote the private sector and make state-owned companies more efficient, Riyadh plans to sell up to 5 percent of state oil giant Saudi Aramco in what is expected to be the world’s biggest initial public offering.

On the other hand, Saudi King Salman bin Abdulaziz is currently in Japan on an Asian tour to endorse ties with the world’s fastest growing importers of Saudi crude and promote investment opportunities.

Trump had spoken by telephone with King Salman soon after he took office in January and agreed to support safe zones in Syria, according to a White House statement.
