Saudi Arabia’s Crown Prince Mohammed bin Naif bin Abdulaziz chaired a national cabinet session on Monday afternoon at the Riyadh-based Al-Yamamah Palace.
At the onset of the meeting, the Vice Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques Crown Prince Mohammed bin Naif expressed that the tour a number of countries King Salman bin Abdulaziz has embarked on would bolster chances on enhancing and developing the Kingdom’s relations with brotherly and friendly countries in all fields.
King Salman’s tour includes visiting Malaysia, Indonesia, Sultanate of Brunei Darussalam, Japan, China, Republic of The Maldives, and Jordan.
Crown Prince Mohammed bin Naif cited King Salman’s speech during his first leg of the tour, delivered in Malaysia, in which he stressed Saudi Arabia s support and undying willingness to help and cooperate with Malaysia in any effort or movement designed to serve the issues of Muslims.
The Vice Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques then briefed the Cabinet on the outcomes of the talks the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques held in Riyadh during the week preceding the tour with President Mohammed Abdullah Farmajo of Somalia and President Prokopios Pavlopoulos of Greece.
The cabinet was also briefed on outcomes of the visit of Saudi Arabia’s Foreign Minister Adel al-Jubeir to Iraq where he held talks with a number of Iraqi officials, reaffirming ties binding the two countries.
More so, Saudi state-owned news agency SPA reported that the cabinet reviewed the latest regional and international developments, welcoming the renewal of Syrian peace talks held in Switzerland’s Geneva and sponsored by the United Nations.
The cabinet expressed hope that the negotiations would bring about a comprehensive ceasefire and a political solution to the Syrian crisis based on Geneva Declaration (1) and the UN Security Council Resolution No. 2254 in what ensures ending the suffering and bloodshed of the brotherly Syrian people, and achieving their legitimate aspirations.
A number of scientific, cultural and economic activities which took place in the Kingdom during the week were discussed at the cabinet.
