In another counterterrorism step taken by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia security spokesman of the Interior Ministry stated that fundraising without acquiring a permit from accredited authorities represents a clear violation of national regulations.

In a statement to Saudi Press agency (SPA), the spokesman added that any person, body or entity (institutions and companies) are subjected to interrogation in case of raising funds without procuring an official permit.

The Ministry of Interior warned citizens and expatriates of getting in contact or dealing with such campaigns, calling upon them to offer donations to official institutions instead. Such institutions include, King Salman Center for Relief and Humanitarian Aid and the Saudi National Campaign to Support Brothers in Syria or the national charities authorized by the Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Call and Endowments and the Ministry of Labor and National Development.
