Supervisor General King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Centre, KSRelief, Dr. Abdullah Al Rabeeah met on Friday with UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres on the sidelines of the World Humanitarian Day in New York 2017.

The meeting, which was attended by a number of officials, dealt with the great efforts being exerted by the Center to treat the cholera epidemic in Yemen.

The meeting also discussed a number of issues related to the humanitarian and relief issues and the fruitful cooperation between the Riyadh-based KSRelief and United Nations organizations.

Saudi Arabia has been a vital contributor to relief work in war-torn Yemen.

In his speech at the World Humanitarian Day conference, Al Rabeeah said that since the establishment of King Salman Center for Relief and Humanitarian Aid in May 2015, its main objective was to provide humanitarian and relief assistance to peoples, societies and individuals being affected by crises throughout the world based on four humanitarian principles; Humanity, Impartiality, Non-bias and Independence.

He stressed that the Center is committed to providing assistance to the vulnerable and needy wherever they are.

Calling on the international community to attach great importance to the protection of humanitarian and relief workers and beneficiaries of their services, Al Rabeeah said that his organization extends “deep thanks and appreciation to humanitarian workers, volunteers around the world.”
