Saudi Arabia’s King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center announced signing a Ramadan food aid project for Syrian refugees residing in Lebanon, benefiting 90,000 refugees.

The program will be regulated and realized in cooperation with a local civil society organization. It will help provide ‘iftar’ meals to displaced Syrian refugees.

Iftar is the evening meal when Muslims end their daily Ramadan fast at sunset.

The project was signed by Assistant Director General for Operations and Programs at the King Salman Center Maher bin Abdul Rahman Al-Hadrawi, said the Saudi Press Agency SPA.

Since the early on displacement of Syrians caused by the series of crises which erupted after 2011, the Saudi government has extended serious efforts to provide utmost care and attention on providing relief services for Syrians wherever they are located, and to work hard to overcome any difficulties and obstacles that stand in their way of a decent life.

Al-Hadrawi said in a press statement that the project for the Syrian refugee in Lebanon comes within the a number of programs sponsored by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz to help the Syrian people in the field of food security.

More so, the relief center is scheduled to deliver 50 tons of dates to the West African Republic of Benin on Sunday. The freight would be given in the presence of officials from both countries.

This comes within the humanitarian role being played by the Kingdom represented by center for supporting friendly countries.

On that note, over 48 tons of dates were delivered by the center to the World Food Program (WFP) in Burkina Faso on Thursday, in the presence of in Saudi Chargé d’Affaires in Burkina Faso Abdulmohsen Al-Zahrani and the World Food Program (WFP) representative to Burkina Faso, John Charles.

The World Food Program (WFP) has signed a receipt of the shipment from King Salman Center’s team for distribution to beneficiaries in Burkina Faso.
