King Salman Orders Reformation of National Consultative Assembly | ASHARQ AL-AWSAT English Archive 2005 -2017

The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz issued several royal decrees on Friday. Among the orders was the reformation of the kingdom’s Shoura Council.

The Consultative Assembly of Saudi Arabia, also known as Majlis Ash-Shura or Shura Council, is the formal advisory body of Saudi Arabia.

Shoura Council Secretary General Mohammed bin Abdullah Al-Aomar was relieved of duties, followed by a decree stipulating that Abdullah Al-Ashiekh willl head the consultative assembly next year.

King Salman’s royal orders instated that Ali bin Nasser al-Afis is appointed as Labor and Social Development minister replacing Mufraj Al-Haqabani. Saudi Custom’s Director Saleh bin Manee al-Khelaiwi was also relieved from position. Minister Abdulrahman Al Sadhan was assigned to the post of Royal Court Adviser.

Naif Alromi was also relieved from governor post at the national Public Education Evaluation Commission
