Jeddah-The Saudi Cabinet took on Monday evening a number of decisions including the approval of the implementation of rules on the Undeveloped Land Fees Regulations to collect taxes from owners of the so-called white lands.

The session, chaired by Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, was held at Al-Salam Palace in Jeddah.

The Cabinet decided that the Ministry of Housing would be responsible for collecting a levy to be paid by owners of undeveloped lands, which are empty because their owners have no plans to build on them.

The ministry will also collect fines from owners who violate the ministry’s rules.
Separately, King Salman received at the Peace Palace in Jeddah the governors of regions on the occasion of their 23rd annual meeting.

The King urged them to pay attention to the interests of citizens and expatriates, follow up on their conditions and their needs and diligently work to meet them in order to achieve comprehensive development and serve the homeland and the citizens’ interests.

Crown Prince Mohammed bin Nayef bin Abdul Aziz had asserted when heading the governors meeting on Sunday evening the keenness of the Saudi government to facilitate citizens’ affairs and to enhance security and overall development.
