Saudi Arabia’s King Salman bin Abdulaziz chaired a national cabinet session in Riyadh on Monday, said the Saudi Press Agency SPA.

The session started with King Salman briefing the cabinet on outcomes of Asian tour.

Saudi Arabia’s King Salman had concluded a month-long Asian tour to build ties with the world’s fastest growing importers of Saudi oil and promote investment opportunities.

The monarch had visited each of Malaysia, Indonesia, Sultanate of Brunei Darussalam, Japan and China. In his tour, King Salman held official talks and meetings with leaders and senior officials of each Asian state.

King Salman also briefed cabinet members on details concerning two telephone calls received from Bahrain’s King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and French President Francois Hollande.

In a statement made to SPA following the session, Culture and information Minister Dr. Adel bin Zaid Altoraifi said that the cabinet lauded significant progress reached between Saudi Arabia and the Asian countries during the King’s tour.

The Cabinet reviewed the visit made by King Salman to Japan and the meeting held with Emperor Akihito as historic, said Altoraifi.

More so, the session reviewed the King’s visit to China, his talks with President Xi Jinping, meeting with Premier Li Keqiang and Chairman of Standing Committee of National people’s Congress Zhang Dejiang, as greatly significant.

More so, the Cabinet reviewed the results of the visit of Deputy Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz to the United States and his meeting with US President Donald Trump and senior officials in his administration.

Achieved historic and strategic relations between the two countries were commended by cabinet members who stressed that the held discussions will contribute to deepening relations and strengthening mutual cooperation in various fields.
