IDB, Mali Co-Sign $15-Million Agreement to Fund Solar Energy Project | ASHARQ AL-AWSAT English Archive 2005 -2017

The Islamic Development Bank (IDB) and the government of Mali co-signed on Thursday an agreement worth $15 million to fund a solar energy generation plant.

The power station is expected to feed with a capacity of 4.3 megawatt Mali’s rural areas, benefiting over 35,000 inhabitants who live in underprivileged areas. The IDB is a multilateral development financing institution based in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. It is directly supported by the Kingdom.

The agreement was signed by the President of the Bank Dr. Bandar bin Hajjar and the Malian Ambassador to the Kingdom Zaine Moulay.

On the other hand, Saudi Arabia and the Human Rights’ Organization, affiliated to the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), also co-signed the Human Rights’ Organization Headquarters Agreement, reported the Saudi state agency SPA.

The accord sets forth the commitment of the Government of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, as the headquarter host country, to provide the human rights body with all resources and facilities, to guarantee realizing effective performance of the independent body.

Saudi Arabia will provide the body with a separate Jeddah-based premise for its secretariat-general.
The accord was co-signed by the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for Protocol Azzam Al-Qain and by Marghoub Saleam.

Gratitude was extended by the humanitarian body to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz for generously backing the bodyespecially in terms of logistics.
