The Gulf Cooperation Council-US summit was held in Riyadh on Saturday under the chairmanship of Saudi King Salman bin Abdulaziz and US President Donald Trump.

Before the summit and in the presence of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, the leaders and heads of delegations of the GCC and Trump, a memorandum of understanding (MoU) was exchanged at King Abdulaziz International Conference Center to establish a center for combating terrorism financing, Saudi Press Agence reported.

In the memorandum exchange, the GCC was represented by Crown Prince Mohammed bin Nayef bin Abdulaziz, Deputy Premier and Minister of Interior; while the American side was represented by US Secretary of State Rex Tillerson, SPA said.

The GCC-US summit was expected to discuss threats to regional security and stability and the building of stronger commercial ties between the GCC and the United States.

The leaders and heads of delegations of the GCC held on Saturday morning their 17th consultative meeting in Riyadh, Saudi Press Agency reported.

The meeting was chaired by Crown Prince Mohammed bin Nayef bin Abdulaziz, Deputy Premier and Minister of Interior, SPA said.

The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s delegation included Deputy Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Second Deputy Premier and Minister of Defense; Prince Khalid bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Saudi Ambassador to the United States; Minister of Islamic Affairs, Call and Guidance Sheikh Saleh bin Abdulaziz Al Al-Sheikh; Minister of State and Cabinet’s Member Dr. Musaed bin Mohammed Al-Aiban and Minister of Foreign Affairs Adel bin Ahmed Al-Jubeir, the news agency added.
