The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz received at Al-Salam Palace in Jeddah on Thursday Irina Bokova, the Director General of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), Saudi Press Agency reported.
During the meeting, they discussed ways of enhancing cooperation between the Kingdom and UNESCO in the fields of education, science and culture, and reviewed the organization’s various activities, including preserving the world heritage, SPA said.
Bokova commended the Kingdom’s role in supporting dialogue between different cultures and civilizations, as well as backing UNESCO’s works and educational and cultural programs, the agency added.
The audience was attended by Minister of State and Cabinet’s Member Dr. Ibrahim al-Assaf; Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Dr. Nizar Madani and the Kingdom’s Permanent Representative to UNESCO, Dr. Ibrahim bin Yusuf Al-Balawi.
