Saudi Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz issued on Monday a decree to host the relatives of Palestinian martyrs for the annual Hajj pilgrimage, reported the Saudi Press Agency (SPA).

For the ninth year in a row, Saudi Arabia will cover the Hajj expenses of 1,000 relatives of Palestinian martyrs.

Minister of Islamic Affairs, Dawah and Guidance Sheikh Saleh bin Abdulaziz bin Mohammed al-Sheikh voiced his great gratitude to the monarch on his gesture and his “constant keenness to build bridges and forge fraternal ties with his Palestinian brothers in helping them perform the fifth pillar of Islam.”

The king’s gesture stems from his sharing of the spirit of Islam with Palestine and its people. It is part of Saudi Arabia’s constant and generous support to the Palestinian people in all fields, said the minister according SPA.

The kingdom’s hosting of the Palestinian pilgrims will ease their suffering and is a reflection of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques’ support to the Palestinian people and their noble cause, he added.

Furthermore, he stressed that the Palestinians need to be recognized and “respected for their great sacrifices in preserving the al-Aqsa Compound and the land of Palestine, which is Arab and Islamic.”

Saudi Arabia’s pioneering standing in serving Islam should have a prominent mark towards the Palestinian people in particular.

The Kingdom has sought in all circumstances for the Palestinian people to obtain their legitimate rights and achieve their hopes and aspirations.

It has constantly proven its ongoing support for the people and has employed all of its capabilities for their noble cause, stressed al-Sheikh.
