Arab League Secretary-General Ahmed Aboul Gheit on Thursday congratulated Saudi Prince Mohammad bin Salman bin Abdulaziz on his appointment as Crown Prince and Deputy Premier besides his position as Minister of Defense, said the Saudi Press Agency SPA.

The Secretary-General expressed his confidence that Prince Mohammad bin Salman will lead the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia towards more progress and prosperity, under the wise leadership of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz.

For his part, the Vice-President of China Li Yuanchao also passed on good wishes to Prince Mohammad bin Salman bin Abdulaziz on his selection to be next-in-line to the throne.

“Thanks to the patronage of the two countries’ leaders, Chinese-Saudi relations have developed rapidly as mutual strategic trust between the two countries has been strengthened, the scientific cooperation has yielded fruitful results in all fields and the friendship has deepened between the two peoples,” said Yuanchao in a cable sent to the Crown Prince on this occasion.

The Chinese Vice President stressed his readiness to work with the Crown Prince in the next phase to enhance the momentum of the positive development of bilateral relations, support the fundamental interests and the great concerns of the two sides and accelerate the linkage between the initiative of the Silk Road and Economic Belt and the Kingdom’s vision 2030.

He wished the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia steady prosperity and its people further progress and happiness, and for the Crown Prince constant good health and all success.
