Cairo-The Yemeni government delegation participating in the Yemeni peace talks in Kuwait has reiterated commitment to the founders these talks. The delegation also commented on the announcement made by the U.N. Secretary General Envoy to Yemen Ismail Ould Cheikh Ahmed to resume the talks mid of July.

Yemeni delegation issued a statement to ensure that the government sticks to its stance, which is based on the Security Council resolution number 2216 and other related decisions as well as the Gulf initiative.

It denied dealing with any suggestions that undervalue the function and missions of the legal authority, noting that any attempt to legalize the coup is not acceptable and that the conflict with the opposition is substantial.

Moreover, the delegation highlighted its keenness to achieve peace in Yemen, launching from its moral and national responsibility towards the Yemeni people. It also expressed willingness to fully cooperate with the special envoy to create positive atmosphere for serious and fruitful talks.

Besides, the Group of Ambassadors to Yemen pledged to join efforts with the U.N. to settle the conflict and achieve sustainable peace in Yemen. It also urged the talks’ parties to work restlessly and closely with the special envoy to reach a solution for the struggle in Yemen.
