London- Two days after Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei launched an initiative dubbed “resistive economy”, at the Iranian new year, deputy joint chief of staff of the armed forces Brigadier General Masoud Jazayeri, rushed to support Khamenei’s campaign saying that the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), the army and Basij militias all are prepared to contribute to the Supreme Leader’s plan.

“Resistive economy”, is one of the many notions introduced by Kamenei. During his speech, the Supreme Leader warned against the foreign “infiltration” into Iran via the nuclear deal. The terms he used indicated Khamenei’s fear of no longer having control over governmental bodies.

In turn, the IRGC fears that its contribution to the Iranian economy will decline after sanctions are lifted and foreign investors knock on doors.

On the other hand, Iranian President Hassan Rouhani is strongly supportive of a political self-abstinence approach, away from the IRGC’s influence over governmental economic policy, and is open to opportunities of foreign investment.

Brig. Gen. Jazayeri, who is considered a prominent IRGC commander, emphasized the importance of dodging slogans and “miscalculations” against “resistive economy” policies.

President Rouhani stated that his government will employ “resistive economy”, however confirmed that a “constructive approach” with foreign countries is within the policy’s framework.

Rouhani attempted to go beyond all internal disputes, especially when his administration was accused of failure in mending the waning economic status; as he made new promises on a vigorous economic movement approaching.

Rouhani accused “Iran’s enemies” of trying to deny his country’s post-nuclear deal achievements.

Brig. Gen. Jazayeri considered that exaggerating sanctions, and their removal, is “perverse speech” and unrealistic, which aims at influencing public opinion.

Regarding the Supreme Leader’s speech, Jazayeri warned governmental parties that no leniency will be shown to anyone who doesn’t implement Khamenei’s recommendations pointed out during his Nowruz -Iranian New Year- speech.

Jazayeri suggested that Rouhani’s administration should not trust foreign-made promises, and that infiltration gaps should not become leverage to the enemies of Iran.
