London- Iranian member at the Expediency Discernment Council of the System Ali Akbar Nategh-Nuri harshly criticized the overt escalation of tensions among political factions in the country.

“It will not lead to a solution, or serve the people’s best interest,” Nategh-Nuri said.

On the other hand, Interior Minister Abdolreza Rahmani Fazli announced the start of the official measures preparing for upcoming presidential elections and municipal elections.

Nategh-Nuri called for “following the path of dignified behavior, and proper treating of the public, and open ended forgiving.”

“Moderates” like Nategh-Nuri and parliament Speaker Ali Larijani are the most suitable candidates to chair the council.

Nategh-Nuri’s commentary came after Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei’s representative to Qazvin, an Iranian province, Abdelkarim Abdini voiced loud criticisms to what he called “corrupt mobs working under political covers, harming Qazvin.”

Fazli kicked off executive measures with respect to the upcoming presidential elections next March.

The interior minister, on the sidelines of a conference for Iranian parties, announced that the country has officially entered the initial stages of presidential and municipal elections. He also highlighted the vacancy left behind at the parliament after the recent death of the former chairman of the Expediency Council, and elected Speaker of the Assembly of Experts, Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani.

More so, Fazli condemned the absence of transparency regarding measures and action taken to counter corruption. “ No one can fight off corruption, unless everyone is involved,” he added.
