Tripoli-Libyan Toubou tribal Leader, Issa Abdul Majid warned that his country is subjected to be divided into four or five statelets, including Toubou statelet, which is supported by some western and regional parties, and Amazigh statelet west Tripoli, which is supported by Iran.

In his statements for Asharq Al-Awsat, Toubou leader called the Arab League to intervene as soon as possible and transfer “Skhirat negotiations” file, which is among Libyan parties and is guided by the United Nations, to the Arab League.

“The Arab League must intervene in Libya to save it from division before it is too late,” he added.

Issa Abdul Majid also said that among current negotiations is the suggested national unity government headed by Fayez al-Siraj stating that it shall start operating from one of the southern cities if it doesn’t reach the capital. “Some people are exploiting parties from Toubou tribe in the South and Amazigh tribe west Tripoli, in order to establish a new statelet in these areas,” he said.

Issa Abdul Majid was the leader of Toubou’s Front for the Salvation of Libya before becoming the current adviser of the Libyan Parliament president for African Affairs. He said that he halted all activities of the Front the moment he returned from Libya with the protests that overthrew Muammar Gaddafi’s regime in 2011.

Abdul Majid confirmed his support for against unifying Libya, its people and government while pointing the special agendas that regional powers have against the country.

“Libya will be divided into statelets if the international community did not intervene to solve the Libyan problem.”

Abdul Majid assured that he has warned in several interviews before, including his interview with Asharq Al-Awsat newspaper. He said the UN is following the orders given by USA and other great powers, noting that they have an agenda to divide Libya into at least four statelets so that they can control the resources in Libya, including gold and crude oil especially in southern areas.
