San Diego (California)-Art in San Diego, the seaside city and the Headquarters of Marine Corps has been witnessing a constant development; the expansion of the city, the growth of its population, and the rise of price rates, has made La Jolla – its luxurious suburb – to deserve a new music hall instead of renting the Museum of modern arts.

Therefore, La Jolla Music Society has decided to establish a new USD65 million hall for music and it is set to be opened for concerts in 2018.

The hall is expected to comprise 500 seats, offices, entertainment space, food court, and a training zone; the building will be designed by Epstein Joslin Architects, which designed the Boston Symphony Hall, and the sound systems will be assigned to Nagata Acoustics.

The project’s budget will be funded by the wealthy people of San Diego, mainly Conrad Prebys (the hall will be named after him).

Over the past year, La Jolla Music Society has been lucky to have former Chairman Christopher Beach, who proposed the project, and his predecessor Kristin Lancino, who will supervise the establishment and equipment of the new hall aiming at making at a center to spread culture and art and to host international artists in this beautiful city situated on the Pacific Ocean.

La Jolla concluded its summer season with International Pianist André Hamelin who charmed the audience. He shared the stage with three other pianists and played for Franz and Tchaikovsky in perfect harmony.
