Riyadh- The National Forum for Prevention of Sexual Exploitation of Children via Internet has recommended the establishment of a center for cyber safety and the support of all national efforts to prevent and face exploitation crimes via the internet.

The forum, held under the patronage of Crown Prince Muhammad Bin Naif, deputy premier and minister of interior, concluded around 21 draft recommendations to face sexual exploitation of children via internet, focusing on raising awareness among students at different phases towards the safe usage of internet.

Recommendations called for supporting national efforts aiming at facing and preventing sexual exploitation of children via the internet, supervising the internet and technology means in addition to providing and developing different means and ways to notify sexual exploitation cyber-crimes.

The forum also demanded building a national overarching strategy to protect children of sexual exploitation through the internet and technology methods, in addition to going along with related national regulations and legislations that are applicable by international organizations in this domain.

It also underlined importance of holding this forum continuously, once every two years, and considering widening its scope.

At the end of the forum, the attendees stressed the urgency of taking required procedures to eradicate these violations, and raising awareness at all phases in addition to encouraging individual and institutional initiatives to find clear and safe technology substitutes.

Recommendations called for benefiting from successful programs and samples in the field of precautionary measures and modifying them to fit with the Arab and Islamic communities.

Light was also shed on the necessity of letting parents take part in the process of providing safe conditions for children to surf through the internet.
