Riyadh – Saudi Arabia is getting ready to present its Vision 2030 at the World Economic Forum, which will be held in Davos in January.

More than eight Saudi ministers and a group of economists and businessmen will represent the Kingdom’s new generation to talk about Saudi Arabia’s Vision and National Transformation Program, which aims at promoting national economy away from the oil-based industry.

The Middle East and North Africa Director at the World Economic Forum, Philipp Rosler, told Asharq al-Awsat newspaper that western countries have a strong desire to learn more about Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030, adding that Forum officials will dedicate a platform to the Saudi delegation to present the Vision in detail.

Rosler said that the world was witnessing the beginning of a new era in the Saudi economy, adding that all opportunities were now available to shift the Saudi government-based economy towards an economy that is primarily led by the private sector.

Asked about the role of small and medium enterprises in achieving the Saudi Vision, Rosler said that part of the Vision was based on encouraging such enterprises, adding that such companies will one day lead the Saudi economy.

He added that the success of the Vision will be mainly based on economic diversification and the integration of the youth in the transformation program.

The World Economic Forum Annual Meeting in Davos-Klosters gathers the world’s top leaders in collaborative activities to shape the global, regional and industry agendas at the beginning of each year.
