Jeddah-Saudi Foreign Minister Adel al-Jubeir received at his office in Jeddah on Sunday Russia’s Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mikhail Bogdanov, who is also the special envoy of the Russian President for the Middle East and North Africa.

The meeting tackled a number of issues of mutual concern.

Bogdanov visited King Salman Center for Relief and Humanitarian Aid on Sunday and met with the general supervisor of the facility, Dr. Abdullah bin Abdulaziz al-Rabeea.

Moreover, Bogdanov confirmed the vital role played by the center in supporting those who are in need of assistance in all parts of the world, and he described the center’s mission as noble and honest.

He said: “We highly appreciate this activity as it is a very significant achievement, and Russia is ready to cooperate now and in the future through exchange of experience and information and visits between the two sides and provide services supportive for those in need.”

He added: “The general supervisor of the center is welcome in Moscow in order to develop mutual cooperation.”

For his part, Dr. al-Rabeea made a brief presentation on what the center provides from services and humanitarian aid to countries around the world whether directly or in coordination with U.N. organizations.

The center’s activity is a reflection of its future strategy to play an active role in humanitarian work around the world and to become a partner that provides services to the needy everywhere, Rabeea said.

He explained in a similar statement that the Russian envoy was briefed on activities of the center, whose 97 programs benefited 62 million people around the globe.

The center partnered with 80 other groups, whether organizations affiliated to United Nations or institutions of civil society.

Bogdanov left Jeddah on Monday.
