With the approach of the last ten days of Ramadan, Muslims head to spend these holy days around the Sacred House of Allah. However, no one ever thought that Kaaba’s attire would be weaved by 20-year-old Saudi youth who succeeded in running the biggest weaving machine in the world.

The Technical and Vocational Training Corporation in Mecca has recruited its youth to work on weaving and dying the Kaaba’s attire. 30 young Saudi male graduates of the Industrial Institute in Mecca mastered the work on the biggest sewing machine in the world, following a one-year training program that included seven specialized phases to manufacture the attire of Kaaba.

Those young men have succeeded remarkably in working with these complicated sewing machines, which require high accuracy, focus, and patience. These results encouraged the industry to set future plans that aim to recruit 100 Saudi men over five years in the domain of weaving and embroidering.

Sheikh Abdul Rahman Al-Sudais, head of the Presidency of the Two Holy Mosques showed a remarkable interest in the youth who worked on the attire and lauded the institute’s efforts, by describing this action as a blessed step to offer the best services for the two Holy Mosques.

In the same context, deputy general president of the grand mosque Sheikh Dr. Mohammed bin Nasser Al-Khuzaim promised to encourage the new graduates on continuing their scientific and practical path in this domain to fulfill the Saudi Vision 2030.

Dr. Ahmad al-Faheed, governor of the Technical and Vocational Training Corporation said that the institute’s contribution in serving the two Holy Mosques is a great honor, adding that the corporation will make all its efforts to serve the country and to qualify its youth.

Hossam al-Laqmani, one of the young men who work in the attire’s weaving said that he didn’t expect to succeed in this mission. However following up with all the work’s phases encouraged him on acquiring more skills and on competing this noble work.

It’s worth mentioning that The Technical and Vocational Training Corporation has signed a memorandum of understanding with the General Presidency of the Two Holy Mosques that aims to train and qualify Saudi youth under higher global standards in the required fields, like the weave and embroidery of the Kaaba’s attire and the maintenance of the Holy Mosques Facilities.
