ANKARA, (Reuters) – Iran and Turkmenistan will pump 30 billion cubic metres a year of gas to Europe via Turkey, a senior Turkish energy official said on Saturday.
Iranian and Turkmen gas will leave no need for alternative supplies to the Nabucco gas pipeline project, which extends to Austria, the official told Reuters.
Turkey and Iran have agreed that Turkish Petroleum Corporation (TPAO) will produce 20 bcm natural gas in three phases of Iran’s South Pars field, said the official, requesting anonymity.
